Joe and Leigh – The Voima Journey

A fresh start

Joe Nation and Leigh Johnson have been on the Pole Bicycles Ambassador roster for several years, flying the flag for Pole Bicycles worldwide racing on the Enduro World Series. In that time they have racked up numerous top ten results and have been ranked 13th and 19th respectively.

What some of you might not know, is that for the coming EWS season both riders will be solely competing in the Enduro World Series E-bike series onboard the Voima! Yes, that’s right – no analog races for these guys this year.

Fresh off the back of the first-ever E-bike race (in which Joe came 3rd) we caught up with them both in Innerleithen, Tweed Valley ahead of the first round of the EWS to find out how they’ve been getting on.

The Voima Journey

It’s fair to say that they’ve both been bitten by the E-bike bug! Their own individual style and talent on two wheels has always been plain to see. But somehow, watching them riding on the Voima seems even more effortless. Besides only having had a few weeks to get to know their bikes, both Leigh and Joe seem at home behind the bars of their True Gold race weapons.

What’s in store for the first race of the season? Only time will tell. Last year’s Tweed Valley had 14 stages covering almost 60km of riding over the day – it’s going to be big! One thing is for sure though, Leigh and Joe are amped and fully charged for it! Good luck to them both during the opening round of the EWS-E Series in the Tweed Valley on 3rd June 2022.
