The story behind the build
EVOLINK-series is our breakthrough product. EVOLINK was created back in 2015, and still, it’s ahead of the game. We won national races with it, got attention and praise words from the press and media with it, and won the Design & Innovation Award 2017 with the Evolink 140 EN. We have encouraged the media to start using the stopwatch on the tests. Since then, Pole has proven to be the fastest. Our customer’s feedback is the same: I made my Personal Record, I feel more confident, and I have missed this feeling of speed. It has been said that the EVOLINK is the benchmark for the mountain biking industry.
The year 2017 was a long time ago when we are talking about the mountain bike market. New models and innovations are released annually, trends bounce and die fast, new mountain bike companies emerge and die annually. The sport itself grows in vast numbers, and more and more MTB has become a sport for everyone. We love that change because we are and want to be ahead of the game.
One thing that did not have to change, though, is the Evolink. Arguably, the Evolink geometry is still ahead of its time. With a small twinkle in the eye, the Evolink V1.3 compares to others 2021 models 😉 What we change on our bikes annually are the components. For example, the coil shocks have become a long way since 2017. We wanted to build the EVOLINK with the parts that won’t grow old in a decade.
So yeah, about the story behind the build:
Leigh raced the Evolink 158 TR at the EWS Trophy of nations, Finale Ligure, and told us what he thought about it. There were a couple of points that he would have upgraded, so we did that. And then we went a bit beyond too. It was not meant to be anything but the dream build video of the Evolink 158, but then we thought that if we offer LE builds for Staminas and Machine, should the Evolink get one too? Why not, right!
It took us one night to walk around our factory and warehouse to gather the parts that would represent the most excellent quality with the best performance and then build the beast up.
