Pole Voima takes the podium at 2022 EWS E-series

After a long and physical season, the final round of the 2022 Enduro World Series E-Series took place in the spectacular surroundings of Finale Ligure’s iconic trails in Italy.

Joe and Leigh have been pushing their Voima race bikes super hard all season and were feeling good. The boys were looking forward to the race and had a clear goal in mind – they were in town to give it everything! They were going to “let that dog eat”

The season could be described as physical, demanding, hot, tight, fast, and fun. Everything except the kitchen sink was thrown at them. They lapped it all up in their stride and the results speak for themselves. Multiple top-10 finishes and a podium in Tweed Valley round in Scotland left the boys battling for a podium position for the teams.

Right off the bat it was go time, and straight down to business. Unbelievably technical and steep power climbs were for starters. The type of terrain that would leave a mountain goat scratching his head in bewilderment.

As we all know, what goes up must go down, and that means time to let that dog eat and get that 190mm of Voima travel munching its way down the hill.

The racing was super tight, with the slightest mistake seeing you drop down the table. Consistency was very much the name of the game. It was a fine balance of flat-out speed while trying to keep it safe between the tapes. As the day went on, fatigue was setting in, and both Joe and Leigh had to dig deep to keep the momentum going.

After a long day of 12 stages and over 60km of riding, including three grueling power stages, the season was finally done! Joe and Leigh crossed the finish line totally exhausted – they had given it everything.

Excited to see how their results would place them overall for the season, there was much checking of result sheets and totting up numbers. Leigh crossed the line in 8th, which left him sitting in 5th place overall. Joe was just pipped out of the top 10 finish and was left sitting in 12th place overall. But the big news was that their results left them in 3rd place for the overall team competition!

It was podium time for the boys! All their hard work, consistency, and dedication paid off. In their first season of EWS E-bike racing on a new bike, they took that Voima and showed the world what it could do. It’s fair to say that the Voima is one fast bike and ready to win!

With the season now over, it’s time to head home. For Leigh, it will be time to catch up with the hills of Wales and get in some surfing. Joe will pack up and fly all the way south back to the summer in New Zealand for some epic riding and racing.

Well done Joe and Leigh, and thanks for a great season!
