Hiisi
A spirit of the sacred forest — untamed, ancient, beyond control. We named our machine after it.
In Finnish mythology, hiisi originally meant a sacred place — an untouched forest where no path led. A place where the trees were older than memory.
Later the word took on a second meaning: an unpredictable force. A forest spirit that was respected but never tamed. Something that refused to bend to human rules.
We didn't name this bike in a boardroom. We named it for what it is: a machine that refuses to compromise.

The Hiisi exists because we needed a bike that didn't exist. One frame that adapts to any terrain, any rider, any riding style — without giving anything up. Not a compromise between categories, but a platform that makes them irrelevant.
Every Hiisi is machined to order and built for one rider. Your geometry, your travel, your components. This is what happens when you refuse to settle.
We haven't cut a single corner building this bike.
We chose CNC machining not because it's affordable — it isn't — but because it is the absolute best way to build a frame. Designing something complex is easy. Designing something simple is the hardest work there is. The Hiisi is finished when there's nothing left to remove.
We don't copy other bikes. We don't benchmark. We innovate, iterate, and test — hundreds of iterations to arrive at one machine. The Hiisi is the culmination of every bike we've ever built.

Machined, not welded
The Hiisi frame is CNC-machined and assembled using Pole's patented method — precision-machined components bonded and mechanically joined. Every bearing surface, every pivot point aligned in one setup. Wall thickness controlled across every surface. The result: a suspension linkage so precise that the kinematics we simulate are the kinematics you ride.
One platform, twelve configurations
The Hiisi accepts Full 29" and mullet (29"/27.5") wheel configurations from a single frame. Travel adjusts from 152 to 200 mm. When your riding changes, you change the setup — not the bike.
Built for you, not for stock
Your Hiisi is machined when you order it. You choose the complete build: components, geometry, finish. Three coatings — Raw Silver, True Gold, Hero Bronze — each e-coated in-house. No paint. Every toolpath visible through the surface.
A motor that knows when to disappear.
Pedal harder, the bike pedals harder. Pedal lighter, it eases off. The Maxon Air S amplifies what you do — closer to a long tailwind than a motor. There when you want it, gone when you don't.
It vanishes into the chassis the same way it vanishes from the ride. The Hiisi was drawn around the Air S, not adapted to fit it. The motor mount, the cable routing, the centre of mass — all part of one piece. From either side, it looks like a bike.

Maxon's drives flew on every Mars rover from Sojourner to Perseverance. They're in surgical robots and insulin pumps. We didn't pick Maxon because they make the loudest bike motors. We picked them because they've been engineering precision drives for places where motors can't fail.
