More is More™ A principle that we strongly believe in at Pole Bicycles. Our ethos is held firmly in function before form and form follows function. The Pole Voima (meaning Power in Finnish) is all of these principles coming together.
The idea behind the Voima is simple; Ride up, along, and down faster. We have created a bike with better-pedaling efficiency, that has longer travel, the assistance of a motor, and a long-lasting battery range.
It’s all about maintaining power transfer from our pedal motion to trail speed mechanically, not only from the assistance of the motor but with the right suspension kinematics. Our modern suspension design allows us to make the most of pedaling efficiency without loss of energy. The Voima is the ultimate enduro, park bike, long-distance trail rig, and DH play bike all in one.
The Voima has more power, more travel, and covers a greater distance. Sourcing the latest technology, we were able to create a bike that doesn’t weigh over the odds and has more range and suspension travel.
There are no compromises in terms of suspension kinematics, geometry, or how the bike rides either. Based on a completely new suspension platform with a design that has been tested across both bikes with and without a motor and battery. It is lively and active but without compromising on pedaling efficiency or suspension dynamics.
The Voima has been designed as the truest form of what we believe an e-bike should be. We never benchmark against other bikes and the Voima is no exception. It is not based on an existing bike model with an e-bike motor and battery adapted into the original design either. It has been designed and created as an e-bike from the ground up.
What is More?
With 190mm travel front and rear, the Voima is also the only completely CNC machined and bonded 7075-T6 aluminum-framed e-bike in the world. 7075-T6 aluminum is almost twice as strong as the conventional 6061-T6 aluminum and is also 100% recyclable.
The Voima is also designed as dual crown compatible. Race tested and approved, we already have two e-bike race wins under our belt with the Voima and will soon complete the industry’s toughest EFBE safety testing in Germany.

With a higher capacity battery, the question of how to fit a larger cell into the frame and still maintain the ability for a full range of sizes was raised. Although fitting a battery to the topside of the downtube makes sense for weatherproofing, the new battery design is sufficiently protected from the trail elements on its own. With that in mind and a requirement for more space to include a full range of frame sizes, the Voima battery compartment is located on the underside of the downtube.
Bosch Performance at its best
A newly refined version of the Bosch Performance Line CX drive unit combined with a 750wh Powertube 750 provides the power for the Voima. With 85 Nm of torque, the new motor enables powerful acceleration after tight turns and obstacles at a low cadence and facilitates starting on an incline. The motor also provides support with high cadences for fast sprints too.

Following in the footsteps of their CNC’d brother the Stamina, we have managed to integrate enough space for three water bottles on the Voima frame.
So whether you need a full three bottles of water on your ride, or two and a tool kit, the Voima gives you the possibilities to choose your way. All bottle mounts are Fidlock compatible also.
Potential to use a battery extender
With the space on the top side of the downtube, there is not only the potential for three water bottles (or tool storage) but also the addition of a battery range extender. And why not? More is More after all. With the positioning of the battery compartment and easier cable routing, the location of the charging port is located near the bottom of the seat tower. The motor is fully covered from behind, to protect it from the elements out on the trail.
SENSEI uses kinematics designed and tested for bikes with or without a motor. It features a virtual pivot point that hovers near the chain line, which enables it to pedal extremely well. SENSEI has a progressive leverage ratio and a falling rate of anti-squat which keeps pedal feedback low. Ground feedback has also been reduced significantly, which in turn has created better balance during cornering and jumping.
The shock is mounted sideways to minimize the stress to the shock bushings. The whole 190mm of travel can be used with an air or a coil shock and it is versatile for all sized riders.
“Your work will teach its maker,” Leo’s grandfather used to say – a talented self-learned craftsman. SENSEI is Japanese and it means teacher. We named our suspension SENSEI because comes from our relentless testing of different options and learning from them. Our research and testing is our teacher and that’s how we get better every time. Learning from mistakes, accomplishments, and adding grit to progress is what Finnish “sisu” is all about.
With SENSEI you don’t need a large front chainring that is heavier and more prone to damage. It’s possible to use a 32t front chainring which allows better ground clearance and power delivery.
It’s claimed that a bigger chainring upfront creates less wear on the cassette. This is partly true. But moving from a 32t to 38t at 80 RPM, you can only upshift one cog at a time on the cassette. The speed with 38t on 80 RPM with 29″ and 10t in the rear is 42.1kph. On a 32t, the same value is 35.5kph. However, with 50t the speed difference is only 1,3kph.
Our research says it’s better to go with a smaller chainring. This avoids the common problem of breaking chains on E-bikes. The less power you need from the motor on uphills, the more battery range you will have and the less chain damage.
Our leverage ratio floats around ~2.6:1 in dynamic SAG. This is where most of the shocks perform at their best. The leverage ratio is within a falling rate so that you get a smooth small bump feeling, with a good pedaling and cornering platform in the mid-stroke. A falling rate leverage ratio gives a smooth ending-stroke without a harsh bottom out. We have optimized the leverage ratio so that the suspension has less ground feedback and it’s more pleasant to ride seated. Here is more information about our philosophy of suspension design.

Made in-house in Finland
The one thing we do have as an advantage is our ability to manufacture in-house, in Finland with our own CNC machinery. This puts us not only in a unique position in terms of developing and manufacturing framesets across our model portfolio, but we can avoid any unnecessary delays in production from a third-party manufacturer in the Far East.
The Voima is not only unique in its design and capabilities, but also in the way we move forward in production.
In the future, our production lead times will be shorter and manufacturing much more efficient. Our goal is to have framesets available in stock as orders are placed.

A premium product without the Premium Price
Production is due to begin in late 2021, with only K2 and K3 framesets available on a limited basis. Framesets are 5990 € and complete builds are 8990 €.
As our experience of CNC machining has developed, expanded, and has been refined, we are now in a position to manufacture the Voima with lower production costs, which in turn can be passed onto the customer in the MSRP.

On a bike with such progressive geometry, the question of best sizing is one that we get asked a lot. So, we decided to update our size naming convention. Instead of S, M, L, and XL we’ve replaced it K1, K2, K3, and K4 (the K stands for Koko, which means size in Finnish)
Taking into consideration height crossovers, we have created a size chart matrix that not only covers the rider’s height but incorporates your riding style too. The result is a simple way for you to best choose the bike size to fit their needs – you’re welcome.
For example, if you are 182cm tall and prefer a bike for all-out speed, we would suggest the size K3. If you spend more time at the bike park or prefer a more agile riding style, take the size K2.

We listened to our customers and the message was loud and clear: They want their RAW finished bikes to continue to look amazing for longer.
Wet paint and anodizing aren’t an option. We never want to cover the pure awesomeness of the CNC machined surface. So we created an area in our new manufacturing warehouse and invested a good deal into industry-leading equipment that can offer a long-term solution. A unique and innovative surface treatment system.
Going Electric – This is NOT anodizing
After extensive studying and testing, we chose to go with Electrophoretic Clearcoat. Something you haven’t heard about before? That’s not surprising, because its use in the bike industry is unique and as far as we know, has never been done before.
This type of surface treatment is mostly used in industries whose applications have to resist mechanical strain and environmental impacts like salt. It’s also commonly used in the jewelry industry. The coating system has a hard surface and completely clear looks the same as the RAW finish.
As the name suggests, the process involves electricity and exposing the processed part to different solutions. First, the surface is cleared from aluminum oxide and other materials present in the alloy, like zinc, copper, and magnesium. Then an electrical circuit is made between electrodes and parts being processed.
When voltage is introduced to the solution, the clearcoat attaches to the surface of the parts. Finally, the parts are cleaned and placed in a low-temperature oven to remove any moisture and residue left over.
The resulting finish is durable, and impressively only a few microns in thickness. High tolerance parts like bearing races and threads are also completely unaffected by the process.
As with our in-house CNC manufacturing process, we wanted to keep our environmental impact as a high priority and as low as possible. In general, the business of surface coating involves chemicals of the worst type, and we wanted to stay with the most environmentally friendly option possible.
When it comes to green factors, electrophoretic clearcoat ticks all the boxes. As it’s a fully closed system it does not involve any heavy or toxic chemicals and all wastewater is securely stored in tanks and recycled later.
The whole treatment is done in-house, so it also gives us complete control of the processes and by-products.
Raising the Standard
Production at our new on-site clear coat surface treatment facility is now fully operational. All Voima ebikes will have the new clear coat Electrophoretic clearcoat applied as a standard procedure.
Along with the standard clearcoat, the new process allows us to create colors too. So far we have successfully applied, tested, and created True Gold.
True Gold is available as an additional option and can be included on all stamina frames for a limited time.
If you’re wanting to add even more color combinations to your frame, we can offer True Gold options to all shock yokes and links on Voima frames. We’ll also have more colors coming in the future!

What is the frame warranty on the Voima? And what warranty is offered on the Bosch motor?
All our in-house CNC’d framesets are covered by our limited 5-year warranty for manufacturer defects. Bosch offers a 2-year warranty on the Performance Line CX Gen 4 drive unit fitted to all of our Voima e-bikes. For more information, visit our Product Liability and Warranty Page
Can I buy an extra battery?
Yes! We have an exclusive partnership with Bosch which allows us to sell you an extra battery for use on your Voima. Pricing is still to be finalized, but we’ll have more news coming very soon!
Can I buy a frameset without a shock?
Unfortunately not. We spend a lot of time testing and developing every bike in the Pole range. Each bike is specifically equipped with parts that we have tested extensively so that you can get the best performance out of your bike.
When will they be delivered?
Voima frameset production will start in late 2021 at our in-house facility in Finland with an estimated delivery window of early 2022. Production of the complete Voima bikes will start in the Spring of 2022, with an estimated delivery soon after.
I’m not a fan of the brakes, can I get other parts fitted to my complete Voima?
We work with some of the best companies in the bike industry to bring you the best performing parts and specifications for the bike model. Unfortunately, the ongoing supply and demand issues currently being experienced globally, means we are limited to a specific range of products on the complete builds. However, never say never! I live in the UK/USA/Europe, will the motor be limited to the correct speed for my region?
Each frameset and complete Voima will have the correct firmware and components to match laws and regulations in each region globally. This will be preset in our factory before dispatch. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!
Does the frameset come with a crankset?
Voima E-bike framesets do not come with a crankset. With so much choice, we decided to leave it up to you to choose. As long as they are E-bike ISIS compatible and standard fitment, you’ll be hitting the trails in no time!
Can the Voima be set up as a Mullet e-bike?
Yes. Although the bike has been developed around a complete 29” wheel set up, it is still possible to run it as a Mullet. However, the software will need to be updated by a registered Bosch Service Dealer.
Will there be any extra charges for me to pay if I purchase a Voima from outside of Finland?
All Voima orders placed by customers within the EU will be charged the correct VAT amount as set out within their region. The amount of VAT will be displayed and added to the order in the cart when purchasing. All orders placed outside of the EU, will not be charged VAT. However, you will be responsible for paying all relevant VAT and duties when the order arrives in the destination country. This varies from region to region, so it is best to check your local governmental guidelines for the most up-to-date information.
